The 2023 Bucks County Transportation Improvement Inventory (BCTII) provides a detailed record of all identified transportation needs within Bucks County. Projects addressing these needs are submitted to us from our municipalities and related stakeholders and collected into one inventory. The inventory aims to identify and prioritize opportunities for enhancing transportation infrastructure and services. As of January 2024, it includes 69 proposed roadway, operations, bicycle/pedestrian, and bridge projects with a total estimated cost of $130 million.
We note that the BCTII is not a commitment for funding but serves as a tool to help the Planning Commission and our municipalities prioritize projects.

Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a regional planning tool managed by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), which serves the greater Philadelphia area. The TIP outlines regionally agreed-upon transportation projects and investments that will be implemented over a four-year period. The TIP is adopted by DVRPC, which is a federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the greater Philadelphia region, which includes Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, and Bucks counties in Pennsylvania and Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer counties in New Jersey. The TIP can be amended after it is adopted and is updated every two years (FY25 was adopted October 1, 2024). An overview of the TIP and how it is developed and maintained can be found here.
