Plan Overview
The Bucks County 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update will promote pre- and post- disaster mitigation measures, short/long rang strategies that minimize suffering, loss of life and damage to property resulting from hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions to which citizens and institutions within the County are exposed; and to eliminate or minimize conditions which would have an undesirable impact on our citizens, the economy, environment and well-being of the County.
The emergency management community, citizens, elected officials and other stakeholders in the County recognize the impact of disasters on their community and support proactive efforts needed to reduce the impact of natural and human-caused hazards.
Resident Survey
We invite you to participate in an important Resident Survey as part of our efforts to update the Bucks County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Your feedback will help us identify local risks and develop strategies to reduce the impact of natural and human-made hazards such as floods, wildfires, severe storms, and more.
The survey will only take a few minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. The survey can be found here. Please complete the survey by October 3, 2025.
Your input is vital to making our community safer and more resilient for everyone. Thank you for being a part of this important process!
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Deanna Miller at dmmiller@buckscounty.org or Matthew Walters at mmwalters@buckscounty.org.
Municipal Surveys
Please review and return the following surveys:
The Capability Assessment Survey will allow the planning team better knowledge of municipal capabilities, existing plans and ordinances, and available staff and technical assistance to support hazard mitigation in your communities.
The Hazard Identification Survey will help the planning team to identify hazards impacting your jurisdictions, understand vulnerabilities associated with these hazards, and learn about your ground-level experience of hazards county-wide.
We are available if you have any questions! Please feel free to reach out to Michael Baker’s consultant team (Taylor Harrington taylor.harrington@mbakerintl.com) or Bucks County Planners (Matthew Walters mmwalters@buckscounty.org, Deanna Miller dmmiller@buckscounty.org) with any questions or comments!
